BELGRADE (SEEcult.org) - The 8th International Festival “Days of the Organ - Dies organorum”, a unique music event in Serbia and the region as well, started on June 28 in Belgrade by the concert of David Sanger (Great Britain), one of the most famous world organists, who is also one of the professors at the Summer Organ School, from June 27 to July 13.

The Festival of the Organ is organised by the Belgrade Cultural Centre, with the aim to promote this magnificent music instrument and music composed for it.

This year's festival of organ music will gather again some of the most renowned performers from several European countries. They are going to introduce many devoted music lovers to the world of early baroque music and music pieces by various contemporary composers.

Seven evening concerts will take place in the Blessed Virgin Mary's Cathedral located in the part of the borough of Vracar called Neimar.

Edoardo Belotti (Italy), Andres Sea Galán (Spain), Pavel Kohout (Czech Republic) and others are going to perform on the oldest organ in the Balkans.

As every year, Summer Organ School will take place in the scope of the festival. All the organists that are to perform at the aforementioned concerts are going to hold master classes too. This summer school represents an excellent opportunity for local students to learn and work together with the best pedagogues and professors who teach at various eminent world music conservatoires.

Among the participants are also Christopher Stembridge (England), Pavel Kohout (Czech Republic), Andres Cea Galan (Spain), and Edoardo Bellotti (Italy).

The festival will be closed on July 14 by the concert of the Summer Organ School participants.

All the concerts start at 20,30, and the entrance is free.
